So with covid lockdown once again in place, boudoir photography is on hold until it's again "safe" whenever that may be so instead of editing body beautiful images, I'll spend some time re-educating myself on the never ending learning curve of my nemesis, Adobe Photoshop. Like many boudoir photographers I've experimented (and lost $$$) on the alternatives only to find I end up back where I started. Don't get me wrong, there are some great and much less expensive alternatives but each one seems to miss the mark in ways that I personally miss when editing.
So with much contempt, I like millions of others will continue to donate to the powers that be. What I have found as an advantage is that although the alternative software developers promote that you own it, never pay again etc. the average cost is around the same as a 12 month subscription to LR+PS so over a year you're no better or worse off. The BIG difference here is that over many years of using PS, LR and alternatives, on average the alternatives end up costing almost the same as the updates generally cost almost the same as the years subscription to PS+LR. I'll get around to doing full reviews on the alternatives in the future but for now and for my boudoir photoshoots I'll stick with the devil I know.
